Welcome to Call of Duty Answers Wiki!Edit
Welcome to Call of Duty Answers Wiki, Abeardedgoat. Thanks for contributing! I hope you join in and ask or answer some more questions. You can find the new questions on the WikiActivity page. If you need any help, have a look at Help:Wikianswers. -- EvErLoyaLEagLE (Talk) 10:44, July 28, 2012
Hello there my friend. It appears we have very similar ideals and opinions on how COD should and shouldn't be played e.g. quickscoping. I only do that rarely but mostly I just disagree with the idea of snipers running around and cheapscoping. I have never met someone from England who hates quickscopers in the same way as I do. I am from England myself. If you play PS3 and want to add me, my PSN account is Ghost_Alpha_1810. Ghost Alpha (EnemyHunter) (talk) 19:33, July 5, 2013 (UTC)
A little Thank You...Edit
Hey man I would just like to say thanks for being able to answer some new questions over the past few days of my absence. Me being on holiday means that I won't be able to answer questions at all, but I thank you greatly for being there when I can't be in two places at once. A possibility, perhaps?Edit
I notice that you are on here fairly often and that you are here to help whenever I am absent on this wiki. Hopefully when some of the other admins are active again, you can put a request for admin because at the moment it is just me and EvErLoYaLEaGlE running this wiki at the moment. Someone like you could be of great use to us at the moment due to being low on active admins at the moment. Ghost Alpha (EnemyHunter) (talk) 23:00, July 19, 2013 (UTC)
I have seen your request and you do seem very eligible for a RfA. You should be promoted in a couple of hours. (As soon as I can locate User Rights. Ghost Alpha (EnemyHunter) (talk) 17:05, August 16, 2013 (UTC)
- One problem. I cannot find the thing which is used for granting users admin rights. I'll contact a bureaucrat and see what I can do from there. Sorry about that my friend. Ghost Alpha (EnemyHunter) (talk) 17:17, August 16, 2013 (UTC)
About COD Ghost questionsEdit
I guess we could do that sort of thing what Mass Effect Answers Wiki does, but at the same time all we have to do is just delete them on sight unless they ask the questions when Ghosts is released. It would make our jobs easier yes it would. But still the situation is quite managable as it is. Thanks for the idea anyway. I'll keep that in mind just in case COD Ghosts questions get too much. A few tips on adminEdit
In case you didn't know, if you want to block someone who is creating trouble on the wiki, go to their contributions page and click on the "block" button. From there you can add a reason why they should be blocked and also limit what actions they can do during the course of the block. If it is an anon user don't restrict the IP address because lots of anon users can use the same IP address. Prevent them from creating an account and if it is their first time creating trouble, give them a block for a week or a week or a half. When the block is finished and should they persist with causing hassle for the wiki, ban them for a few months. Also due to you just being a sysop (system operator) you cannot bestow other users with admin rights. But hopefully for a few months we shouldn't need any more active admins here. To delete pages just click on the white triangle next to the page's "Edit" button and click on delete. Then you can put your reason why the page should be deleted such as "Irrelevant to COD", "Containing false or offensive information" or if it is another one of those tedious COD Ghost questions just say "Dupicate question".
Hello there my friendEdit
Dealing with trolls...Edit
I saw what that troll had been posting on here. Remember that if the user, whether it would be a registered user or anonymous user, treat them in the same way. Personally I think we should use any means necessary to deter vandals from coming here, even if that means we must answer aggression with aggression. I think you handled it quite well and also don't be hesitant to block them. Trolls will take any form on the internet, as a result a troll could even be using the hacked account of an inactive bureaucrat for all I know. If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please feel free to leave a reply on my talk page. Ghost Alpha (EnemyHunter) (talk) 10:52, September 24, 2013 (UTC)
Dealing with trolls (2)Edit
You'll often see that we get some people who come here just to stir up trouble and cause hassle for us admins. I have blocked that anon user for a time long enough for them to reconsider their inappropriate actions. If they persist, a further block shall go on and so forth. If they put anything rude or inappropriate more than once, just instantly block them. One troll edit should mean you warn them. Anything more, just hit the ban hammer on them. I saw that undone edit made by that anti-camper contributor. I would have probably gone into a full fetched rant about how camping is not noobish compared to quickscoping, hacking or abusing game mechanics. As somebody who plays a variety of shooters and plays paintball, I know for a fact that camping is safer than rushing (not all the time but most of the time). I suggest if we get abusive anon users like that then we treat them just as trolls: Warn them once and if they persist give them a block.
I started a new COD wiki and will need the help of a few admins to build it up
Apart from a certain Admin
That idiot userEdit
Saw what that troll said again. If he uses more profanity, that's just gonna get him blocked even more. He personally abused my talk page, so I just changed his block to infinite, to show him that we don't tolerate trolls. I do rush about on COD, but only with CQC classes.
RE: Banning trollsEdit
Saw your message. Fair enough for it. Sometimes we have to ban people who are being more distressful than what guidelines say.
